Up for auction is a 1964 International Harvester C900. I bought it a few months ago and basically don't have time to work on it. I looked them up online and there were only 6000 of the C900 model made between I beleive '64 and '66, making it a fairly rare truck. It is exactly the same as when I bought it. It would be a great truck to restore or make into a hot rod or rat rod
The paint looks to be a flat black, probably primer. The interior is green with the white painted metal dashboard. I would assume the green is the original exterior color. The engine and transmission are original, the engine is a four cylinder (half of a IH 304 is what I'm told), and the transmission is a 3 speed manual. The engine runs great and I drive it almost every day 10 miles round-trip to work, but The transmission needs some work, as it will pop out of gear under load. I remedied that by putting a bungee cord on it when it's in third gear and it works fine. The only one of the gauges currently working is the amp gauge, the previous owner had disconnected the fuel level gauge, but couldn't remember why he had disconnected it. The speedometer isn't currently working, but the previous owner included a new speedometer wire and a spare speedometer if the current one didn't work. He seemed to beleive that the mileage that the speedometer shows is correct, but I have no way of knowing and can't verify.
The body is very straight for the year, there is one dent above the front grille, and a few small rust pinholes above the driver's side door, and some rust under where the door weatherstripping had been. The floorboards are very solid, and the bed is in good shape, with only a few small dings. The truck didn't come with a front bumper. The truck didn't come with keys to the door locks, so I've never locked it, or know if they would work. The doors do need the hinges rebuilt, as they're sagging a bit. The window crank on the driver's side and door latches on both sides are missing, and the truck needs a new passenger glass. The windshield has scratching where it looks like someone ran the wipers with no rubber blades, but could probably be buffed out.
I"m not sure of the condition of the tires, I do know it needs at least one new one as it is showing the steel belt coming through.
The truck is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction due to local buyer. Truck is sold as is where is with no warranty expressed or implied.
